In the Twilight series, the members of the Wolf Pack are Native American and live in La Push, a small reservation town near Forks, Washington. They are descended from the Quileute tribe and have the ability to transform into giant wolves at will. Their main purpose is to protect their tribe and the humans of Forks from vampires. Sam Uley is the leader of the pack and is the first werewolf to be introduced in the series. Jacob Black, who is also a main character in the series, becomes a werewolf later in the story and eventually becomes a pack leader himself.
