Matchbox Twenty

Matchbox Twenty, an American rock band formed in Orlando, Florida, in 1995, has carved its place in music history with a blend of heartfelt lyrics and catchy melodies. Comprising Rob Thomas, Brian Yale, Paul Doucette, and Kyle Cook, the group has garnered international acclaim since their debut. Their breakthrough came with "Yourself or Someone Like You" in 1996, a diamond-certified album in the US and multi-platinum in other countries. "Mad Season" (2000) solidified their success, peaking in the top three on the Billboard 200 and achieving quadruple platinum status in the US. "More Than You Think You Are" (2002) further cemented their position with double platinum certification in the US.

In 2004, Matchbox Twenty went on hiatus following the departure of rhythm guitarist Adam Gaynor. However, they reunited in 2007 with Paul Doucette assuming rhythm guitar duties. Their compilation album "Exile on Mainstream" received Gold certification in the US, followed by a successful tour. Subsequently, they took another hiatus, allowing Rob Thomas to focus on his solo career before reuniting once more in 2010. Their fourth studio album, "North," released on September 4, 2012, soared to the top of the Billboard 200, reaffirming their popularity. After a hiatus, Matchbox Twenty returned with "Where the Light Goes" on May 26, 2023, marking their fifth studio album.
