Sylvester Stallone
What can not be said about Sly Stallone? His filmography ranges from the truly great like Copland, Rocky, or Rambo to the truly awful like Judge Dredd, Tango and Cash, and Rambo. Of course he was a major part of a nerd sci fi cult classic as Machine Gun Joy Virterbo in the iconic Death Race 2000.
He wrote Rocky in 20 hours over 3 straight days and was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay for it (he also was nominated for Best Actor and was only the third actor to get two nominations for one film). The film is of course a classic and inducted into the National Film Registry. Sly Stallone himself was inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame in the non-participant category.
His full name of course is Micheal Sylvester Gardenzio Stallone (Italian much?) and he was born in Hell's Kitchen although he mostly grew up in Washington DC.
