Directed by Peter Jackson, The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring set the bar for fantasy and adventure films in 2001. The story follows the Dark Lord Sauron, who is hell bent on conquering Middle-earth by acquiring the One Ring. When young hobbit, Frodo Baggins, unexpectedly comes into possession of the Ring, he sets out on a quest to destroy it. Joined by eight other companions, together they form the Fellowship of the Ring. In order to save Middle Earth, they must journey together and cast the Ring into the fires of Mount Doom in the land of Mordor.
