Eighteen years after the release of Volume 1 of this film, Kill Bill has remained one of the most iconic and classic films of all time. It is an American martial arts film written and directed by Quentin Tarantino. The story revolves around the Bride, played by Uma Thurman, who vows revenge on a team of assassins played by Lucy Liu, Michael Madsen, Daryl Hannah, Vivica A. Fox, and David Carradine after they try to kill her and her unborn child. After surviving the attack, the Bride went to the home of Vernita Green and tried to kill her. This film is one of the two Kill Bill films that were made in a single production.
Did you know that The Bride’s yellow jumpsuit was a homage to Bruce Lee? As a sartorial tribute, The Bride wears a killer outfit that was meant to mimic the ensemble that the famous Chinese-American martial arts artist and instructor Bruce Lee wore in Game of Death. The film’s director, Quentin Tarantino also copied a short headlock sequence from Game of Death during The Bride’s fighting scene with Vernita Green.
