Ok. Clowns freak me out. Not as bad as mimes, but pretty bad.
Fear of clowns is known as coulrophobia, while fear of mimes is supposed to be metamfiezomaiophobia, but I can't find that word listed on dictionary.com, so it might be made up by somebody. I do find it on a number of sites, but none of them seem official.
Anyway, you can't be a slave to your irrational fears. My best friend has always had a long time fear of zombies (kinemortophobi, supposedly) and to conquer it he and I would play Resident Evil all night and watch every zombie movie we could find (leading to my current love of zombie movies). They still freak him out but he is cool with it.
With that in mind I forced myself to watch this movie (also Shakes the Clown, Bobcat Goldthwait at his best) to help combat my coulrophobia. It's worked out pretty well, but they still freak me the hell out.
