Horror Movie T Shirts

In recent years, the horror film genre has been undergoing a nice revival that seems like a flourishing renaissance for movie audiences and fans who are once again collecting horror movie t shirts.
A couple of years ago, executives at the legendary Universal film studio announced their intentions of making modern adaptations of classic Hollywood monsters such as The Mummy, Dracula, Frankenstein, and others. Although these characters have already gone through remakes in the 1990s, many of those films were considered to be too artsy and moody; in other words, they lacked the thrilling and fun angle of the Golden Age of horror films that ruled Hollywood from the 1920s until the 1950s.
The original "monster squad" is not the only exciting development in the current horror movie bonanza. At the 2016 Brooklyn Horror Film Festival, quite a few fans were seen sporting horror movie t shirts based on classic and modern franchises. The festival is returning to the Borough of Brooklyn in October 2017, and organizers are expecting to see even more fans wearing horror movie t shirts as they take in new wave films such as The Forest of Lost Souls and the Mexico Barbaro II anthology.

The Intersection of Fashion and Horror Film
Fashion and the horror film subculture have always gone hand-in-hand. In the late 1970s, punk and hardcore band The Misfits popularized horror movie t shirts as a fashion trend that fit perfectly with goth fashion. The first wave of horror movie t shirts was mostly handmade, but it did not take long for officially licensed garments to become fan favorites. By the time American musician and filmmaker Rob Zombie began to record albums and produce horror films, the t-shirt phenomenon among horror movie fans had come full circle.

When horror film cast members and production crews attend festival screenings and conventions, they often have t-shirts and assorted merchandise for fans; this is similar to the trend of rock bands selling garments at concerts. Other ways to get these t-shirts is through online stores that specialize on licensed apparel; this is important since the films' copyright holders want to make sure that their intellectual property will only appear on quality t-shirts and other garments. In other words, producers want their fans to look good when they wear their films' regalia.
In the end, things are looking up for stylish fans of the horror film genre in 2017.
