6. Beauty and the Beast roars into theaters

Disney's live-action version of Beauty and the Beast smashed box office records this past weekend, cashing in with over $170 million domestically and $350 million worldwide. The Hollywood Reporter notes that the film’s big debut has broken at least five box office records, while Vanity Fair reports that the movie knocked Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 out of it’s spot for the seventh largest domestic box office opening, ever. Talk about a tale as old as time. Disney fans will appreciate this definitive ranking of Disney Princesses from Buzzfeed, ranked from least to most feminist. Although Beauty and the Beast might have officially outpaced Kong: Skull Island, Comicbook.com reports that Logan is now the highest-grossing Wolverine movie to date.

5. Iron Fist arrives on Netflix

Marvel fans have long awaited the debut for the final Defender, Danny Rand, and his official Netflix debut. Season one of Iron Fist was officially released on Friday but has unfortunately garnered less-than-stellar reviews. While critics have trashed the series for being disappointing, some fans maintain that it’s still worth your while. If you’ve already finished binge-watching the series, Screenrant poses the question, Is Iron Fist The Worst Marvel-Netflix Show? where the comments section is ripe for debate. In case you missed it, Polygon has all the details on the most recent Stan Lee cameo from the series. Actor Finn Jones will reprise his role as Danny Rand for the next Marvel-Netflix lovechild, The Defenders, with a release date to be announced later this year.

4. DC Comics artist Bernie Wrightson died

Comic book artist Bernie Wrightson passed away this weekend. The artist was best known for helping to create Swamp Thing from DC Comics and lending his talents for other horror-infused comics. Originally from Baltimore, Maryland, Wrightson first hit the scene with "The Man Who Murdered Himself" in DC Comics' House of Mystery #179. According to Comicbook.com, he created Swamp Thing back in 1971, alongside writer Len Wein for House of Secrets #92. After an ongoing struggle with brain cancer, Wrightson died on Sunday, March 19, 2017 at the age of 68.

3. Alternative ending for Rogue One: everybody lives!

What would Star Wars be like if the members of Rogue One survived? If you’ve secretly wondered about any alternative ending for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, chances are, you’re not alone. According to Entertainment Weekly, the screenwriters revealed that an earlier draft of the story included Jyn and Cassian escaping with the data tape from Scarif. While this alternative ending seems intriguing, it didn’t seem to mesh well with the overall flow of the film, and the script also didn’t include members like Bodhi Rook, Baze Malbus and Chirrut Îmwe. Rogue One: A Star Wars Story will be available on Digital HD on March 24 and on DVD and Blu-ray on April 4th.

2. Rock n’ roll legend Chuck Berry died

Legendary musician Chuck Berry died this past weekend at the age of 90. Known to many as an iconic musician and guitarist, he is highly regarded as a pioneer of the musical genre of rock n’ roll. Mick Jagger of The Rolling Stones took to Twitter to offer his condolences, “I am so sad to hear of Chuck Berry's passing. I want to thank him for all the inspirational music he gave to us. He lit up our teenage years, and blew life into our dreams of being musicians and performers. His lyrics shone above others & threw a strange light on the American dream.
