Description
This Sheriff Department design comes from Twin Peaks, the show that asked who killed Laura Palmer and then spent two seasons proving that was never really the question. Lynch returned to it twice: the 1992 film Fire Walk with Me, which was booed at Cannes and is now widely regarded as one of his best, and Twin Peaks: The Return in 2017, eighteen years later to the week in story time. The setting does an enormous amount of the work. The Double R Diner, the Great Northern Hotel, the Packard sawmill and the Twin Peaks Sheriff Department are drawn so specifically that the town functions as a character, which is why the merchandise leans on signage and local institutions.
The town sign reads Population 51,201, which is a joke about how implausibly large that is for somewhere with one diner everybody goes to. One Eyed Jacks is the casino and brothel just across the Canadian border, and its neon sign is one of the most recognisable images from the series. This one is printed on a black unisex sweatshirt in sizes S through 3XL. A solid pick for anyone who orders a damn fine cup of coffee and means it.
