Description
This Winged Emblem design comes from The Warriors, the 1979 film in which a Coney Island gang has to cross the whole of New York on foot with every other gang in the city hunting them. Come out to play, delivered by Luther while clinking three bottles together, was improvised by David Patrick Kelly on set. It has outlasted almost every other line in American cinema of that year. The film opened to real trouble in cinemas and Paramount pulled its advertising, which only made it more notorious. It became a cult object almost immediately.
Paramount withdrew advertising after violence at some early screenings, which turned the film into an underground reputation rather than a hit. Come out to play was improvised on set by David Patrick Kelly, who also supplied the three bottles he clinks together. This one is printed on a coffee unisex t-shirt in sizes S through 3XL. Grab it for yourself or for the friend who can name all nine.
