The Goonies Skull Map Pullover Hoodie

This Skull Map design comes from The Goonies, the 1985 film in which a group of kids from Astoria, Oregon go looking for pirate treasure to stop the bank taking their houses. It underperformed against expectations on release and then became a permanent fixture through television and home video, which is the same path The Wizard of Oz took fifty years earlier. The Truffle Shuffle, Never Say Die, and Hey You Guys have all outlived the plot they came from, which is the mark of a film people watched over and over on tape rather than once in a cinema.

The cast were kept largely unaware of some set reveals so their reactions on camera would be real, including the first sight of the pirate ship. Richard Donner deliberately let the child actors talk over one another, which is why the dialogue sounds genuinely chaotic rather than scripted.
