Description
This Run Down Logo design comes from Taxi, the sitcom that put a handful of people who wanted to be doing anything else in the same garage five nights a week. Everyone at the Sunshine Cab Company is driving a cab as a temporary measure. Elaine works in an art gallery, Bobby is an actor, Tony is a boxer, Jim is Jim. Only Alex Rieger, played by Judd Hirsch, admits he is a cab driver, and the show treats that honesty as the closest thing it has to a moral centre. Taxi ran from 1978 to 1982 on ABC and for a final season on NBC, created by James L. Brooks, Stan Daniels, David Davis and Ed Weinberger — four people who had just come off The Mary Tyler Moore Show and knew exactly how to build an ensemble.
Louie runs the garage from inside a wire cage, which was a practical set choice that turned into the single best visual joke in the series. The theme, Angela, is by Bob James, and it is a melancholy instrumental for a comedy, which tells you exactly what kind of show it is. This one is printed on a yellow unisex t-shirt in sizes S through 3XL. Grab it for yourself or for the friend who does the Reverend Jim voice unprompted.
