Superman Distressed Shield Navy Crewneck Sweatshirt

This Distressed Shield Navy design comes from Superman, the character who invented the superhero in 1938. He could not fly at first - the early stories had him leap an eighth of a mile, which is where 'able to leap tall buildings in a single bound' comes from. The S is not an S. Post-Crisis continuity makes it the crest of the House of El, a Kryptonian symbol meaning hope.

Siegel and Shuster sold the character for 130 dollars. In the earliest stories Superman leapt rather than flew. This one is printed on a navy unisex sweatshirt in sizes S through 3XL.
