Description
This He's Dead Jim design comes from Star Trek: The Original Series, the 1966 show NBC cancelled after three seasons and syndication turned into a religion. Gene Roddenberry sold it to the network as a western in space, which is how a show about diplomacy, ethics and a pacifist science officer got made in the middle of the 1960s at all. Star Trek premiered on NBC in September 1966 and was cancelled after three seasons and 79 episodes. Syndication did what the network would not. Reruns built an audience large enough that NASA named its first space shuttle Enterprise after a write-in campaign, and a show that failed on first broadcast became thirteen films and more than a dozen series.
The Gorn suit was so stiff the stuntman could barely move, which is why the Arena fight is so slow. Tribbles were built in a weekend from fake fur and simple motors, and the episode was written by David Gerrold when he was 23. This one is printed on a navy unisex long sleeve t-shirt in sizes S through 3XL. A good pick for anyone who can name the episode from one frame.
