This Patrick's Secret Box design comes from SpongeBob SquarePants, the show a marine biologist made about a sea sponge who fries burgers, which somehow became one of the longest running cartoons ever put on television. The cast does most of the work. He was very nearly called SpongeBoy. The name was already trademarked by a mop company, which is why the surname SquarePants was added late in development and then written into the theme song.
