Sesame Street Team Elmo T-Shirt

This Team Elmo design comes from Sesame Street, the show that has been teaching letters and numbers on public television since 1969 and has outlasted almost everything that ever shared a schedule with it. Sesame Street premiered on public television in November 1969, built by the Childrens Television Workshop around a genuinely radical idea: that the techniques of advertising could be turned on their head and used to teach letters and numbers to children who were not being reached any other way.

Big Bird is roughly eight feet two inches tall and was performed for decades by Caroll Spinney, who was also inside Oscar the Grouch, which meant the two could never appear in shot together easily.
