RoboCop Break on Through Tank Top

This Break on Through design comes from RoboCop, the 1987 film about a murdered Detroit cop rebuilt as corporate property, sold as an action movie and delivered as satire. RoboCop was released in 1987, directed by Paul Verhoeven, and it is far stranger than its reputation as an action film suggests. Officer Alex Murphy is murdered, rebuilt by a corporation as a product, and spends the film recovering the memory of having been a person. Verhoeven is Dutch and read the script as an American Jesus story: a man killed, resurrected, and walking on water in the final act. He has said the religious framing was deliberate.

Omni Consumer Products, OCP, owns the Detroit police force in the film, and its octagonal logo is the most reproduced piece of design from the whole franchise. The boardroom scene was cut several times to get an R rating instead of an X. This one is printed on a charcoal unisex tank top in sizes S through 2XL. A solid pick for anyone who noticed the film was a satire the whole time.
