RoboCop Poster Long Sleeve T-Shirt

This Poster design comes from RoboCop, the 1987 film about a murdered Detroit cop rebuilt as corporate property, sold as an action movie and delivered as satire. Peter Weller trained for months with a mime artist to build the movement, and the suit was so heavy and hot that filming in it was genuinely punishing. ED-209 is stop-motion animation, and its failure to walk down stairs is one of the most quoted machine malfunctions in cinema. The twenty seconds to comply scene was cut repeatedly to secure an R rating rather than an X.

ED-209 was realised with stop-motion animation, and its inability to manage a staircase is the best sight gag in the film. The fake commercials cut into the film advertise the 6000 SUX car and a board game called Nukem, and they are doing most of the satirical work.
