Ren and Stimpy Joy! Youth/Toddler T-Shirt

This Joy! design comes from The Ren and Stimpy Show, the 1991 Nicktoon that spent three seasons finding out exactly how much a childrens network would tolerate. The Ren and Stimpy Show premiered on Nickelodeon in August 1991 as one of the original three Nicktoons, alongside Doug and Rugrats. The other two were gentle. This one was about an emaciated, furious chihuahua and a serenely stupid cat, and it was drawn like a medical textbook having a breakdown.

Happy Happy Joy Joy started as a song performed by a fictional folk singer inside one episode and escaped into the culture completely, to the point where most people who quote it have never seen the scene.
