This 442 design comes from Oldsmobile, America's oldest car brand — founded in 1897, gone in 2004, and responsible for a great deal of what the muscle car era became. Ransom E. Olds founded the company in 1897, which makes Oldsmobile the oldest American car marque. It outlasted almost everything around it and was finally wound down by General Motors in 2004 after more than a century.
