Description
This Always Watching design comes from The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers, the 2002 middle chapter that has no beginning and no ending and is somehow the best paced of the three. The Two Towers was released in 2002, directed by Peter Jackson, and it is the middle film of a trilogy shot all at once. All three were filmed back to back across roughly 438 days in New Zealand, which is why the cast visibly ages at the correct rate and why nothing looks recast. Gollum is the other reason this film matters. Andy Serkis was originally hired to provide a voice, then performed the part on set opposite the other actors, and the animators built the character on top of his performance. That is the moment motion capture stopped being a technical trick and started being acting.
It won Academy Awards for Visual Effects and Sound Editing and grossed over nine hundred million dollars. Karl Urban plays Eomer here, years before Star Trek and Dredd. This one is printed on a charcoal youth t-shirt in sizes Youth S through Toddler 4T. A good pick for anyone who still thinks the middle film is the best one.
