Christmas Oh Deer Crewneck Sweatshirt

This Oh Deer design is for Christmas, the holiday that absorbed every custom it ever met and kept going. Rudolph was written in 1939 as a giveaway booklet for the Montgomery Ward department store, which is why the ninth reindeer is younger than the other eight by more than a century. Much of the modern Santa was assembled by writers and illustrators rather than tradition — the 1823 poem A Visit from St Nicholas gave him the sleigh, the reindeer and the chimney.

Rudolph was invented in 1939 for a Montgomery Ward giveaway booklet. Puritan authorities banned Christmas observance in the 1600s. This one is printed on a black unisex sweatshirt in sizes S through 3XL.
