Ron Howard To Direct Upcoming Star Wars Han Solo Spinoff

In an unusual twist of fate, directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller were booted from the upcoming Star Wars Han Solo film. Filming and production have already been in full swing, but it looks like execs have decided to take drastic measures. According to Variety, Lord and Miller had creative differences with the team over at Lucasfilm. The pair has recently directed "The Lego Movie" and "21 Jump Street", and sources state that they had a more comedy-driven storyline in mind than Lucasfilm had envisioned. Director Ron Howard will officially take the helm, tweeting, "I'm beyond grateful to add my voice to the Star Wars Universe after being a fan since 5/25/77. I hope to honor the great work already done & help deliver on the promise of a Han Solo film."
