Back to the future is a 1985 American science fiction film created by Bob Gale and Robert Zemeckis. The story revolves around the life of a teenager named Marty McFly who was accidentally sent back to 1995 through a time-traveling DeLorean automobile built by his scientist friend Doc Emmett Brown. Since he was trapped in the past, Marty accidentally prevents his future parent’s meeting, thus threatening his very existence.
Did you know that Bob Gale (one of the film’s producers) based the idea on a high school yearbook? The idea first came when Gale was at this parent’s house searching around in their basement. Then he saw his dad’s old high school yearbook and pondered if they would have been friends if they had known each other when they were 17. Gale then presented this concept to Zemeckis and both of them came up with a high-level story with 3 basic ideas.
