Star Trek TOS
Cancelled in 1969. Conquered the world in reruns. Three seasons, seventy-nine episodes, and a syndication afterlife that turned a failed network show into the most durable idea in science fiction.
NBC rejected the first pilot, The Cage, as too cerebral and did something almost unheard of: ordered a second one. Leonard Nimoy built the Vulcan salute himself. The script said only that Vulcans greet each other, so he borrowed a blessing he had seen at synagogue as a boy. The transporter exists because landing a starship every week cost more than the budget allowed. And when Nichelle Nichols planned to leave after the first season, Martin Luther King Jr. talked her out of it; she stayed, and later helped NASA recruit astronauts including Sally Ride and Guion Bluford.
One detail worth knowing before you shop: the year on a Starfleet Academy shirt is a graduating class, not decoration. Class of 2254 is Kirk. Other captains carry their own years, so the number is the whole point of the design.
Kirk, Spock and McCoy. Tribbles, the Gorn, the Enterprise and a poster for every episode ever made.
Officially licensed Star Trek TOS t-shirts printed on heavyweight cotton, with womens tees, long sleeves, hoodies, tank tops and youth sizes across the range, and adult sizes up to 6XL including Tall fits.
