Set in a crime ridden Detroit Michigan, it is undeniable that the main character has amazed a lot of audiences back in 1987 when it was first released in theaters. The story begins with the average Detroit cop who, on his first days at a new precinct, was murdered by a group of renegade gangs. The police department, under the private control of mega-corporation decided to revive leading character by turning him into a robotically enhanced and emotionally detached super-cop. And thirty four years after the film was released in theaters, it is still one of the iconic movies of the 80s, producing a number of sequels, offshoots, and spin-offs which continue until this day.
