This Zombie Football design is for the zombie, the only movie monster that started as folklore about labour and ended up as a running joke about crowds. That film fell into the public domain because the distributor changed the title and dropped the copyright notice from the prints, which is a large part of why the zombie became free for everyone to reuse. George A. Romero's Night of the Living Dead in 1968 never calls them zombies; the script says ghouls, and the modern flesh-eating version was assembled by audiences afterwards.
