The Vampire Diaries Forever T-Shirt

This Forever design comes from The Vampire Diaries, the CW series that turned a small Virginia town into eight seasons of vampires, doppelgangers and very bad decisions. The Vampire Diaries premiered on The CW in September 2009 and ran eight seasons to March 2017, developed by Kevin Williamson and Julie Plec from the novel series by L.J. Smith. Williamson had already written Scream, and the same instinct is at work here: play the genre completely straight, then let the characters be smarter about it than the audience expects. Joseph Morgan arrived in season two as the ancient vampire Klaus and became popular enough to take the show with him: The Originals ran five seasons of its own, and Legacies followed that. Few CW series have thrown off two spin-offs.

Mystic Falls High School fields the Timberwolves, and the school mascot shows up on merchandise more often than most fictional schools manage. Klaus was introduced as a season two villain and was popular enough to carry his own series, The Originals, which then produced Legacies.
