Description
This One Eyed Jacks design comes from Twin Peaks, the show that asked who killed Laura Palmer and then spent two seasons proving that was never really the question. It was a genuine phenomenon for one season. Who killed Laura Palmer became a national question, and when the network pushed Lynch and Frost to answer it midway through season two, the show lost the engine that had been driving it. The setting does an enormous amount of the work. The Double R Diner, the Great Northern Hotel, the Packard sawmill and the Twin Peaks Sheriff Department are drawn so specifically that the town functions as a character, which is why the merchandise leans on signage and local institutions.
Agent Cooper records everything to a tape recorder addressed to a woman named Diane, who is never seen in the original run. The device was borrowed from how Kyle MacLachlan and David Lynch actually worked. The town sign reads Population 51,201, which is a joke about how implausibly large that is for somewhere with one diner everybody goes to. This one is printed on a navy womens t-shirt in sizes S through 2XL. Grab it for yourself or for the friend who still has a theory about the Black Lodge.
