Description
This Science and Superstition design comes from The Twilight Zone, the anthology that spent five seasons proving a half hour is plenty of time to take everything away from someone. Its writers were a remarkable group. Richard Matheson and Charles Beaumont wrote many of the best remembered episodes, and George Clayton Johnson contributed several more, including the one with the fortune telling machine in the diner. Its imagery has outlived almost everything else from that era of television. The spiral, the opening narration and the phrase itself are all in ordinary speech now, used constantly by people who have never watched an episode.
In Eye of the Beholder the doctors and nurses are kept off camera for most of the episode so the reveal lands, and the makeup design still works on a shirt sixty years later. Nightmare at 20,000 Feet stars William Shatner as a man who sees a creature on the wing of his plane, and it is the reason a gremlin on an aircraft is still shorthand for nobody believing you. This one is printed on a navy youth t-shirt in sizes Youth S through Toddler 4T. Officially licensed and printed on heavyweight cotton.
