This Mirage Circle Frame design comes from Transformers: Rise of the Beasts, the 2023 film that finally brought the Maximals to the big screen and set the war in 1994 New York. Transformers: Rise of the Beasts moved the series to 1994 and introduced the Maximals — Optimus Primal and a crew of beast-mode Transformers pulled straight out of Beast Wars, the CGI series that a whole generation grew up on after G1 ended.

Optimus Primal and the Maximals come from Beast Wars, the 1996 CGI series that was the first Transformers show to fully replace the hand-drawn G1 look — and the first to canonically connect itself back to it.
