The Three Stooges Spread Out T-Shirt

This Spread Out design comes from The Three Stooges, the slapstick act that ran for more than twenty years of shorts and never once ran out of ways to hit each other. Their revival came from television. When Columbia sold the shorts to TV in 1958 they found an entirely new audience of children, and the act became more famous in reruns than it had ever been in cinemas. Nearly a century on, the imagery is still instantly legible — three faces, a bowl cut and a slap — which is exactly why it works printed large.

You Nazty Spy! from 1940 satirised Hitler months before The Great Dictator, and the fictional country in it is Moronica.
