The Warriors The Rogues T-Shirt

This The Rogues design comes from The Warriors, the 1979 film in which a Coney Island gang has to cross the whole of New York on foot with every other gang in the city hunting them. A gang summit in the Bronx collapses when Cyrus is shot, the Warriors are blamed, and the rest of the film is the walk back to Coney Island with sixty thousand gang members looking for them. The film opened to real trouble in cinemas and Paramount pulled its advertising, which only made it more notorious. It became a cult object almost immediately.

The plot is a direct reworking of Xenophon Anabasis, the ancient Greek account of an army fighting its way home through enemy land. The roster of nine — Rembrandt, Cochise, Cowboy, Vermin, Cleon, Swan, Snow, Ajax and Fox — is printed on merchandise more often than any single character.
