This Japanese Poster design comes from The Police, the trio who spent five albums making reggae-inflected pop sound like the most sophisticated thing on the radio and then walked away at the peak. The Police formed in 1977 with Sting, Andy Summers and Stewart Copeland, and spent the next nine years becoming one of the biggest bands in the world. Five studio albums, no filler era, and then they stopped.

The band went blond for a chewing gum commercial. All three dyed their hair for a Wrigley's advert early on, liked how it looked on camera, and kept it — it became the visual identity by accident.
