This Bilbo and Sting design comes from The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, with Martin Freeman as Bilbo Baggins. It was the first major feature released at 48 frames per second, double the standard rate, and the look of that high frame rate divided audiences sharply. Guillermo del Toro spent about two years attached as director and co-wrote the screenplay before leaving the project over scheduling; several of his designs stayed in the finished films.
