The Hobbit Ornate Logo Charcoal T-Shirt

This Ornate Logo design comes from The Hobbit, Peter Jackson's return to Middle-earth, which turned a short children's book into three very long films. The dwarves are the merchandising engine and the reason this design set is so large: thirteen of them, each with a badge and a portrait, plus Bilbo and Gandalf. Whatever the films' reputation, the character design work is genuinely excellent. Guillermo del Toro developed it for two years and was to direct, then left when the schedule slipped past what he could commit to. Jackson took over having already designed much of it around someone else's vision, which is part of why the trilogy feels different from the first three films.

Andy Serkis returned as Gollum for the riddles-in-the-dark scene and also served as second unit director. A book of about three hundred pages became roughly eight hours of film across three releases.
