The Goonies Poster Youth Hoodie

This Poster design comes from The Goonies, the 1985 film in which a group of kids from Astoria, Oregon go looking for pirate treasure to stop the bank taking their houses. Sloth, played by John Matuszak under heavy prosthetics, was meant to be frightening and became the emotional centre of the film instead. Matuszak had been a professional footballer, and the makeup took hours every day. The Truffle Shuffle, Never Say Die, and Hey You Guys have all outlived the plot they came from, which is the mark of a film people watched over and over on tape rather than once in a cinema.

Sloth was played by John Matuszak, a former professional American footballer, under prosthetics that took several hours to apply each day. Steven Spielberg wrote the story and Chris Columbus the screenplay, four years before Columbus went on to direct Home Alone.
