This Purple Collage design comes from The Exorcist, the 1973 film that convinced a large part of the moviegoing public that it had made a serious mistake buying a ticket. Max von Sydow was forty four when he played the elderly Father Merrin, buried under hours of aging makeup. Jason Miller, who plays the doubting Father Karras, was a playwright who had just won a Pulitzer and had barely acted on film. The music is the strangest choice in it. Friedkin threw out a commissioned score and used Tubular Bells, an instrumental by an unknown nineteen year old named Mike Oldfield, which turned a prog rock album into a hit and gave the film a theme nobody can hear neutrally anymore.

The seventy five steps in Georgetown where Karras falls have been known as the Exorcist Steps ever since, and the city put up a plaque. It was the first horror film nominated for Best Picture, and one of the highest grossing films of the decade. This one is printed on a black unisex sweatshirt in sizes S through 3XL. A good pick for anyone whose favourite scene is the one with the priests just talking.
