Rhea Perlman appeared as Louie girlfriend Zena while married to Danny DeVito, several years before she was cast in Cheers. Andy Kaufman built Latka from his Foreign Man stand-up character, and his deal with the show reportedly also obliged the producers to book his lounge-singer alter ego Tony Clifton.
