Description
This Where Rock N Roll Began design comes from Sun Records, the small Memphis studio at 706 Union Avenue where Sam Phillips recorded Elvis, Cash, Perkins and Jerry Lee Lewis and more or less started rock and roll. Phillips's idea was to record the music being played around him: country singers, blues players, and young men who did not distinguish between the two. What came out of that was rockabilly, and then rock and roll.
Rocket 88, cut at Phillips's studio in 1951, is one of the records most often named as the first rock and roll record — and it is named after an Oldsmobile. This one is printed on a black youth long sleeve t-shirt in sizes Youth S through Youth XL. A solid pick for rockabilly fans, record collectors, and anyone who has made the Memphis trip.
