Description
This Elvis Full Sun Label design comes from Sun Records, the small Memphis studio at 706 Union Avenue where Sam Phillips recorded Elvis, Cash, Perkins and Jerry Lee Lewis and more or less started rock and roll. The rooster is the mark. Sun's label art — the crowing rooster, the sunburst arch, the Memphis Tennessee line beneath — is one of the great pieces of American record design, and it works on a shirt for the same reason it worked on a 45.
On 4 December 1956, Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins and Johnny Cash ended up in the studio at the same time and simply started playing. The tapes rolled, and the Million Dollar Quartet is the result. This one is printed on a black womens t-shirt in sizes S through 2XL. Officially licensed and printed on heavyweight cotton, built to outlast the vinyl.
