Star Trek Spock Youth/Toddler T-Shirt

This Spock design comes from Star Trek: The Original Series, the 1966 show NBC cancelled after three seasons and syndication turned into a religion. Leonard Nimoy adapted the Vulcan salute from a Jewish priestly blessing he had seen as a child in synagogue. He improvised it on set because the script simply said the Vulcans greet each other. The first pilot, The Cage, was rejected for being too cerebral and starred Jeffrey Hunter as Captain Pike. NBC ordered a second pilot, which almost never happens, and got Kirk instead.

Martin Luther King Jr. personally persuaded Nichelle Nichols not to leave the show. NBC cancelled it after three seasons and 79 episodes. Syndication made it a phenomenon afterward.
