Star Trek Cadet Badge Tank Top

This Cadet Badge design comes from Star Trek, where you can tell a crew member's division from across the room by the colour of the shirt. Very few costumes in television are legible at a glance the way a Starfleet uniform is. In The Original Series gold means command, blue means sciences and medical, and red means operations, engineering and security, which is how an entire joke about mortality rates entered the language. The Academy is also where Starfleet keeps the Kobayashi Maru, a test built to be unwinnable so instructors can see how a cadet behaves when there is no good option left. Kirk reprogrammed it and was given a commendation for original thinking rather than a reprimand.
