Description
This Going Going Gorn design comes from Star Trek: The Original Series, the 1966 show NBC cancelled after three seasons and syndication turned into a religion. The first pilot, The Cage, was rejected for being too cerebral and starred Jeffrey Hunter as Captain Pike. NBC ordered a second pilot, which almost never happens, and got Kirk instead. Nichelle Nichols planned to quit after the first season until Martin Luther King Jr. told her that a Black woman on the bridge of a starship was worth staying for. She stayed, and spent years afterward recruiting astronauts for NASA, among them Sally Ride and Guion Bluford.
Martin Luther King Jr. personally persuaded Nichelle Nichols not to leave the show. The first pilot, The Cage, starred Jeffrey Hunter as Captain Pike and was rejected as too cerebral. This one is printed on a silver unisex t-shirt in sizes S through 3XL. Officially licensed and printed on heavyweight cotton.
