This Ship Symbol design comes from Star Trek: The Original Series, the 1966 show NBC cancelled after three seasons and syndication turned into a religion. The budget was tight enough that the transporter exists because the production could not afford to land a starship every week. A shimmering effect made from aluminium powder was cheaper than a landing sequence. Nichelle Nichols planned to quit after the first season until Martin Luther King Jr. told her that a Black woman on the bridge of a starship was worth staying for. She stayed, and spent years afterward recruiting astronauts for NASA, among them Sally Ride and Guion Bluford.

Leonard Nimoy based the Vulcan salute on a Jewish priestly blessing he saw as a child. The transporter was invented to avoid the cost of landing the ship every episode. This one is printed on a navy unisex sweatshirt in sizes S through 3XL. A good pick for anyone who can name the episode from one frame.

Features:

  • Navy Unisex Sweatshirt
