The base insignia from Space 1999, the Gerry and Sylvia Anderson series that ran for two years from 1975 and was the most expensive British television production of its day. The premise is pure 1970s nerve: nuclear waste stored on the far side of the Moon detonates on 13 September 1999, blows the Moon out of Earth orbit, and carries 311 people on Moonbase Alpha away with it.

Nobody is coming to get them. That is the show. Where Star Trek went out deliberately, Alpha is dragged, and the crew spend two series managing a base that was never built to travel.
