This 7TH Birthday design comes from Sesame Street, the show that has been teaching letters and numbers on public television since 1969 and has outlasted almost everything that ever shared a schedule with it. Sesame Street premiered on public television in November 1969, built by the Childrens Television Workshop around a genuinely radical idea: that the techniques of advertising could be turned on their head and used to teach letters and numbers to children who were not being reached any other way.
