Sealab 2021 Suit Up T-Shirt

This Suit Up design comes from Sealab 2021, the Adult Swim series built by taking a forgotten 1972 undersea cartoon and dubbing complete nonsense over the top of it. Adam Reed and Matt Thompson went on to make Frisky Dingo and then Archer, and the rhythm of the dialogue here — people talking over each other and derailing the plot — is recognisably the same voice. Captain Murphy is the centre of it, a man with the authority of a commanding officer and the judgement of a toddler. Most episodes are some variation on the crew trying to work around whatever he has decided that week.

It was part of the original Adult Swim launch block in 2000, which means it helped establish the entire late-night animation format that followed. The lab is destroyed in an enormous number of episodes, usually in the final seconds, and is simply intact again the following week with no explanation offered. This one is printed on a light blue unisex t-shirt in sizes S through 3XL. Officially licensed and printed on heavyweight cotton.
