Samurai Jack Versus Evil White Long Sleeve T-Shirt

This Versus Evil design comes from Samurai Jack, the Cartoon Network series that threw a samurai into a ruined future and then spent most of its runtime saying nothing at all. The original run ended in 2004 after four seasons with Jack still stranded and the story unfinished. That was simply how it stopped, and for thirteen years it stayed that way while the show quietly became a touchstone for a generation of animators. In March 2017 it came back on Adult Swim for a ten-episode fifth season, rated TV-14, considerably more violent, and it finished the story properly. Very few unfinished series ever get that, and fewer still stick the landing.

Aku was voiced by Mako Iwamatsu, an actor nominated for an Academy Award in 1967 for The Sand Pebbles. He recorded the role until his death in 2006, and Greg Baldwin took over for the 2017 season, having studied the original performance closely. The show was produced in widescreen years before that was standard for television animation, which is part of why the landscapes still look like film frames rather than TV.
