Description
This Top of the Stairs design comes from Rocky, the 1976 film a broke actor wrote in three and a half days because nobody would give him a part worth having. Talia Shire plays Adrian, Burt Young plays Paulie, Burgess Meredith is Mickey and Carl Weathers is Apollo Creed, a showman built openly on Muhammad Ali. Weathers had played professional football and had barely acted, and he auditioned opposite Stallone without knowing Stallone had written the part. Bill Conti wrote Gonna Fly Now on a small budget with a small orchestra, and it went to number one. It is probably the most recognisable training music ever recorded, and it was nearly replaced before release.
Stallone wrote the screenplay in about three and a half days and refused to sell it unless he was cast in the lead, despite being nearly broke at the time. The inspiration was Chuck Wepner, a journeyman who went fifteen rounds with Muhammad Ali in 1975. This one is printed on a white unisex long sleeve t-shirt in sizes S through 3XL. Sizes run deep, with plus sizes and Tall fits on the core tee.
